Sebastian Stevensson received the Swedish Soloist Prize from The Royal Swedish Academy of Music in 2016 for ”his world class virtuosic mastery of his instrument and his strong ability to communicate with audiences and fellow musicians.”
Sebastian started playing clarinet as a child before taking up bassoon at the age of ten. After studying with Knut Sönstevold at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, he moved to Germany to study with Ole Kristian Dahl at the Mannheim University of Music. In 2015 Sebastian Stevensson worked as solo bassoonist at the Munich Philhamonic under Valerij Gergijev. Sebastian is today the solo bassoonist at the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra and he also teaches at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
As a guest musician, Sebastian Stevensson has collaborated with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
